Dying to Live is really all about "living"

I started this blog to help others die to the things that are keeping them from truly living. I talk about everything from taking every thought captive to making healthy choices when eating. I have been on this journey for over 15 years now and finally decided it's time to share it with others. Come join me and learn why we must die in order to truly LIVE!

What does a clinical nutritionist eat?

I spent an hour on the phone this week with a clinical nutritionist and it was fascinating to hear his perspective on eating healthy.  I asked him what a typical day of his eating looks like and this is what he said:

Breakfast
2 poached organic eggs with green tea

Snack
Apple and handful of raw nuts

Lunch
Salad with a little broiled chicken

Snack
Apple and handful of raw nuts

Dinner ( He does not have a starch at night)
Organic Chicken or lamb
Organic Veggies

He said he strongly believes in eating locally and organically.  He eats a lot of quinoa and couscous, too.  He only has a little dairy (maybe once a week and it is white) must be organic.  He rarely has dessert.  He recommended cooking with olive oil unless it is high heat.  He said he does not eat a lot of meat and only occasionally had fish since the mercury level is so high.  If you do have salmon he recommended wild and very little beef..

He highly recommended to not eat corn or soy products.  He also said stay away from eating meat from corn fed animals.

He helped a friend of mine lose a significant amount of weight and here were the tips he gave them.
1. More intense exercise
2. More water
3. No high fructose corn syrup
4. Eat pure food the way God made it

One key to preventing disease he said is to keep inflammation out of our bodies by eating the right foods.

To your health,

Melissa
